In fact, some of the sequel’s cutscenes should feel extremely familiar, as they’re parodies of intros from famous games like Super Metroid. One thing that should still feel familiar is the game’s commitment to entertaining cutscenes. Well I’m about 6 hours into the game now, and it has absolutely blown me away. But I got to play a demo at PAX a few years back and remember really enjoying a boss battle, so I figured I’d grab it. This game has managed to seperate itself from its predecessor, much to defy my expectations. Like a lot of people, I was originally hesitant on picking up SMBF. Super Meat Boy is back, it only took Forever :P.

But after numerous delays in shifts in direction, it’s finally out! The brutal difficulty from the first returns, but this time the gameplay is in the auto-runner style. Nugget is Meat Boy and Bandage Girls little bundle of joy, who first appeared in Super Meat Boy: Forever, born a few years after the events of the first. Super Meat Boy Forever is an aptly-named game, given its lengthy development cycle.
